General

What is Croissant?

Croissant is a monthly coworking membership that gives entrepreneurs, freelancers, remote workers, and digital nomads access to hot desks at the best shared workspaces in cities all over the world. Why have a single workplace when there are so many inspiring places to work?

How does it work?

When you need a place to work, find an open seat at a space listed on the Croissant website or mobile app, go to that space, and check-in on the website or app. Don't forget to check-out when you leave! You can also hold a seat beforehand.

Why should I use Croissant?

Maybe you're constantly traveling around the city and want to be more productive between meetings. Maybe you just need a coworking space for a few hours per month. Maybe you're tired of hopping from one coffee shop to another with spotty wifi and uncomfortable seats. Maybe you're getting your new company off the ground and are looking to meet like-minded people. Maybe you want to find a convenient location to meet with your team. Or, maybe you just don't feel like spending hundreds per month on a workspace!

Does the membership gives access to all locations or is it tied to one specific location?

You can go to any location long as there is a seat available and the space is open on the platform. We welcome and encourage you to try as many spaces as you want!

What cities can I use Croissant in?

Croissant can be used in over 500 spaces in 70+ cities all over the world. Head on over to the Discover page to see which spaces are available in New York, LA, London, Lisbon, and beyond!

When you become a Croissant member, you get instant access to the spaces in any city.

Are you open 24/7, or nights and weekends?

Hours vary from one space to the next, so you should always check their listing. Most are open during the day, while certain spaces offer extended hours. You can see a list of spaces with night and weekend access here.

Why is it called Croissant?

Croissant was named after those flaky pastries the founders used to buy at coffee shops. They get asked this question pretty often so they wrote a whole blog post!

Using Croissant

What do I do when I arrive at the space?

Simply check in with the Croissant app or website upon arrival. If there is a community manager, say hi and let them know you are are checked in with Croissant. Then, take a seat in the coworking area. When you are ready to leave, check out.

If you have any questions about bathrooms, coffee, etc, you can ask the community manager for help or message them through the Croissant app.

Can I bring a guest?

Use your guest hours to invite a friend, colleague, or client with you to any workspace. Once you check in, click on "Add a Guest", enter their name, and they'll be able to work alongside you! You can also hold an extra seat for them from the Hold screen.

The space I wanted to work at is full — now what?

Sometimes demand is high for a workspace and there are no seats available. All seating is done on a first come, first served basis, so we recommend holding a seat to ensure you get your first choice of workspace!

What does "hold a seat" mean?

You can hold a seat for up to an hour to guarantee your spot at a workspace. Once you get to the workspace, you'll see a button continue checking in as normal. Holding a seat does not deduct from your hours, and you may cancel a hold if you decide to change your mind.

Can I reserve a seat for longer than an hour?

Yes! You can reserve a seat for longer than an hour at certain spaces. To see which spaces support this, open the filter on the locations page in the app or website and select a date and time where it says "Hold in Advance". Then, you will see which spaces are available to hold in advance at that time.

What if I forget to check in or check out?

Let us know and we'll be happy to help you adjust.

Do I get conference room time?

Conference room time is not included as part of a Croissant membership, however some spaces list conference rooms on the Croissant platform which you can book using the app or website. You can also inquire directly with spaces for the rates and availability for conference rooms that aren't listed on Croissant.

Membership Details

How long is a Croissant membership cycle?

Each cycle is one month long, and your membership renews on the same day each month. For example, if you initially joined Croissant on April 4th, your membership will renew on May 4th after 11:00 PM EST. There is no commitment and you can cancel at any time.

What if I don't use all my hours? Do they roll over?

Yes! Any unused hours will roll over after that month's cycle is complete. Rollover hours are available for up to 6 months from the initial rollover date, and any usage of your hours is first consumed from the current cycle's hours, and then the most recent roll over, and so on.

What if I use up all my hours?

You can either wait until your next cycle for your hours to refresh, or enable overage or upgrade your membership from your account settings.

How do I cancel my account?

You may cancel your membership at any time from your account settings. You can still use your hours until the end of your current cycle. Cancel at least 1 day before your renewal date in order to avoid being renewed for next month.

I'm going to be traveling. Can I pause my membership?

Absolutely! You can pause your membership at any time for up to 90 days. Select your pause start date and end date and your hours will be saved until you return. You can pause once per membership cycle.

What is verification and do I need to do it?

Some spaces are open on nights and weekends but have limited staff. In order to use them during these times, we need to ensure your identity for the security of the space. Getting verified is the easiest way to help build trust in the Croissant community.

You'll need to confirm your email address, phone number, social media account, upload a photo ID, and have a profile picture. Lastly, you'll need to agree to a pre-authorization charge of $400 (or a similar amount, depending on your country), which is refunded right away, and agree to cover any incidentals in order to get verified. Once verified, you'll be granted extended hours access to select spaces, and spaces with electronic locks. Getting verified is optional.
